<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ch4cn3hVGU0/UJfSrCfIXaI/AAAAAAAAASA/AP2O7xCjnHg/s1600/Stylin+Babyz.1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ch4cn3hVGU0/UJfSrCfIXaI/AAAAAAAAASA/AP2O7xCjnHg/s320/Stylin+Babyz.1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
These Custom Burp Cloths are SO well made and so luxurious you will find any excuse to use them!!! Measuring 10" x 17.5" these burp cloths are truly multi-use gorgeous accessories for the new mom! Each burp cloth has FOUR layers: the top of each burp cloth is made from High Quality Quilter's Cotton, the middle is two layers of cotton Birdseye fabric for absorbancy, and the backing is super fabulous chenille!!!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Whether you are pregnant, a new mom, a grandma, or a really great friend, you will most definitely want to keep a couple sets of these gorgeous burp cloths on hand for the perfect Baby Shower Gift, if not to indulge yourself!!! A new mom can never have too many burp cloths, let alone gorgeous accessories like these from Stylin Babyz!</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
My very favorite feature (besides the High Quality Materials and Gorgeous Fabric Choices) is the size of these burp cloths. So many burp cloths nowadays are tiny and in my opinion, useless, because unless you can predict a good burp you won't catch it, and while the tiny burp cloth kept your hand warm, your clothes caught the mess, ahem! Each Stylin Babyz burp cloth is meant to catch any mess your little makes, is a great size for your home changing table or a public changing table, and also a fabulous size to tuck in the car seat with your little. I always like to tuck a burp cloth in my daughter's car seat to keep her dry, and so we don't have a super fun parking lot wardrobe change, ahem!</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Have you ever made a Doll for your
little!?! A year ago I packed up a box of fabric and visited my mom's
house with big plans to make a few dozen rag dolls from a pattern I
purchased off of Etsy. There is just something so special about
handmade dolls, do you know what I'm talking about!?!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
Anyhow,
hours and DAYS later, with very little progress (you are smiling if you
have ever made a rag doll), I realized my big plans were modified to
finishing a few dolls for my daughter to play with in my fabric shop.
Rag Dolls are TOUGH to make and more time consuming than imaginable!!!<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Most clever idea ever, a Treasure Pocket!!!</div>

For the most part this is a sewing blog, however, my sister was in town and we made SO many fun wooden toys for my daughter that I have to share a few! Today I will share pictures of my daughter's fancy new Gnome Home for her upcoming 3rd birthday!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
My Sister Leila & Me (Tayva)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-gSHgFWt9QsI/UBmmtkK_0-I/AAAAAAAAAPE/KNPqTOzhFNw/s1600/008.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-gSHgFWt9QsI/UBmmtkK_0-I/AAAAAAAAAPE/KNPqTOzhFNw/s320/008.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
My daughter loves all things little and is naturally drawn to her wooden toys, so I wanted to make her a set of peg-people gnomes for her birthday. Then came Pinterest, ahem, and I pinned so many cute Gnomes and Gnome Homes that when my sister said she was coming to visit us this summer I told her I wanted to make a Gnome Home and needed her help. My sister is a super fancy artist, and at the first mention of this project she was in!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
"Normal" people pack clothes in their suitcases when they go on vacation, am I right!?! In my family we pack paint brushes and tools, I LOVE my family! My sister brought her fancy scroll saw, drill, a big box of brushes and two power sanders. To top it all off, she pulled out two big chunks of grape vine! She had clothes in there too, but watching her pull tool after tool out, very impressive! Again, my sister rocks!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
We went to home depot to buy wood for the platforms and base, then we came home and my sister started drawing all over it with pencils. She cut the pieces all out with her scroll saw, then she started to play with the pieces to find the perfect balance and combination.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Each piece of the Gnome Home was secured with heavy duty screws and the finished product is so sturdy my daughter could climb on it because my sister is very impressive like that, and she has 4 boys! We wet down each piece of wood, watered down our paints, and we painted the pieces to achieve a color-wash effect. After everything dried we hot glued moss around the edges and in various places to cover up the screws.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
I made one quick set of peg-people Gnomes to go with this Gnome Home and look forward to making some really fancy Gnomes in the near future. Please leave a comment to any links (or your own Pinterest pages) if you have other fancy Gnome ideas, I am always looking for more! Whenever there is a choice between shiny plastic toys that light up and entertain or wooden toys my daughter ALWAYS chooses her wooden toys! These colorful little Gnomes have been an even bigger hit than I expected...and I still can't find two of them! Smart little girl, she knows they aren't for her to play with just yet so she has hidden them safely out of my sight! Wise beyond her three little years! Now the biggest trick is to store her fancy Gnome Home out of sight until her birthday, wish me luck!<br />
<br />
My sister and I made individual name puzzles (Hanukkah & Christmas presents for Ziva's friends), rainbow wood blocks, wooden elements (water, fire etc.), and cut out a lot of wooden trees for future gnome projects! I will be posting pictures of our other creations in the near future!!! For now, here are more pictures of different angles of my daughter's birthday Gnome Home, enjoy!!!<br />

My Moda box arrived and when I saw the Halloween fabric I just HAD to make myself one of the "Yummy Candy" tote bags. LOVE IT! Here are pictures of the front and back:</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Available In My Shop!!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6YsWItrppoo/T_-m5bsi43I/AAAAAAAAAO4/VIoNGw4KVwU/s1600/003.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6YsWItrppoo/T_-m5bsi43I/AAAAAAAAAO4/VIoNGw4KVwU/s320/003.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I am NOT an applique person. To be perfectly clear, I absolutely adore all things appliqued, but I have never been any good at it! Sadly. I purchased a gorgeous Dragonfly quilt pattern 8 years ago...started cutting it out...and it is currently neatly folded and unfinished staring me in the face when I look at my stash! Can any of you relate!?!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This pattern is SO cute and I have a weakness for patchwork (as in I LOVE IT SO MUCH) that I decided to give this darling tote bag a try. SO happy I did!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Included in the pattern are the Monster & Yummy Candy applique patterns. I held the pattern up to the window, set my heat-and-bond on top of the paper pattern, traced, and voila - I'm pretty proud of how well it turned out, if you haven't noticed, ahem!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This tote bag is the perfect size - perfect to substitute as a purse, diaper bag, book bag, music bag...I think we all need this Halloween tote bag! As parents/grandparents/special-people we all spend so much of our free time creating gorgeous and unique treasures for our littles...and while this could be yet another fabulous gift for your little, I HIGHLY recommend making this for yourself - your very own special Halloween treat!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I only have 3 of these patterns available for sale in my shop, and as part of my Friday The 13th Sale, they are also 15% of the already fabulous price! I only have 11 of the Monster Bash Charm Packs available as well, also on sale. So...make sure you head on over to my <a href="http://www.stitchstashdiva.etsy.com/">Etsy Shop</a> and check out the "Friday Specials" section of my shop and get your pattern and charm packs right away!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Wishing you all a very happy Friday The 13th! Bwahahahaha!</div>

I started my program this past week and some of you have been happily surprised to receive your post cards, thank you for the overwhelmingly positive and happy feedback!!! Love it! </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">I love so many things about my <i><b>Fabric Rewards Program</b></i> but my three favorite features are:</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">1) Awards are available in different amounts...so you have options depending on your purchasing style!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">2) Points are calculated for you! With each purchase you will receive a reward post card with your points for that purchase, as well as your total available points AND your options for claiming your FREE FABRIC!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">3) Nothing to keep track of! Since I keep track of your name & points earned/redeemed, you don't have to carry a customer loyalty card in your wallet...you can spend your time choosing fabric instead of keeping track of cards! One of my favorite Local Quilt Shops has a reward card that is too large for my wallet so I always lose mine. I am always getting a new card and wasting time at home trying to find my other cards...I have eliminated this hassle for you! Enjoy, and thank you for being my customer!!!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">I am SO thankful and appreciative for all of you choosing my shop, and for the level of thought and collaboration you all invested in this program!!! Your ideas were FABULOUS!!! I plan to develop and make adjustments as needed, so after you receive your own post cards with your next purchase please feel free to share any and all ideas you have for me to improve this program! Thank you again for all of your help!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><u>Shop Notice</u>:</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">My husband and I are moving from Salt Lake City to Park City, so I will be closing my shop for two weeks so I can pack, move, clean, unpack...you all know the drill! I will most definitely re-open early if possible, but as for now I plan to close my shop on May 1st and re-open May 15th! Still plenty of time to shop and get enough fabric to hold you over until I reopen! Message me for a custom listing or check out my new shop section "Create Your Own Bundles" to customize your order without waiting for a custom listing! Happy Shopping!!!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">As a little preview...here is a photo out of my new shop window!!! This alone makes the move totally worth all of the work! The Park City ski slopes right outside my window!!! This house is on 4 acres down a cute little country road...10 minutes from the Post Office & Starbucks! LOVE my new home!!! More pictures soon!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-yDGwfGnoQqc/T5BkQZHbMpI/AAAAAAAAAOc/YtKZD3riGdU/s1600/020.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-yDGwfGnoQqc/T5BkQZHbMpI/AAAAAAAAAOc/YtKZD3riGdU/s320/020.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />

</div><div style="text-align: justify;">Today's New Shop Introduction - Three Spunky Monkeys!!!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />

</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span class="il">Stacy,</span> of Three Spunky Monkeys, is a wife and mother of three boys. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing but made the choice to stay at home with her boys when her second son was born. She loves all things crafty. Paper crafting and scrapbooking have been long time hobbies. However, her love for sewing emerged only months ago. She, like many SAHM's, was looking for something that she could do from home to earn a little extra spending money. She had never sewn a day in her life until she decided to make a baby gift for a family member. She realized that she was in love with creative sewing and good at it too! She really loves creating adorable items for little boys since they are SO very hard to find! And so, Three Spunky Monkeys was born!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">Are you ready for some EYE CANDY!!! Here are a few samples of the creativity and love happening over at Three Spunky Monkeys:</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />

Thank you to all of you who took your time to help me improve my shop! It was such a fun and positive experience I can't wait to have another one!!!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">One suggestion that several of you had was a customer loyalty program. I absolutely LOVE this idea! I have been working on this idea and am struggling to find the easiest way to make it work for all of us, so now I need your help again!!!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">I love getting my little card punched at my local quilt shop...always reminds me that I have some free fabric coming my way - love this! Since we don't have the face-to-face card punching option, I need a way to implement a program that gives all of you this same happy "Whoo hoo, Free Fabric" feeling with your packages! My only requirement is for a program that is not time and labor intensive for me! I have a very limited amount of time (like ALL of us!) so I need a customer loyalty program to be very simple and straight-forward, without any additional bookkeeping for me.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">My thought is this: with each purchase I will send you "Diva Dollars" with your package. I can either have specific "This many Diva Dollars buys you this much fabric" guidelines, or they can have a dollar value in my shop. Which would you prefer? </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">As for redeeming your "Diva Dollars" I could either ask that you mail them to me and I would then apply your credit to a custom listing, OR, you could text or e-mail me a picture of your combined "Diva Dollars" and then I would apply them to a custom listing. I want a program that rewards all of you fabulous people who buy my fabric, but with instant gratification and no bookwork. Yes, I would like to have a lollipop and world peace too, but for now I'll focus on a loyalty program!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">Do you see that I'm totally stuck!?! Ugh, really looking forward to your suggestions on this topic!!!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">If you read this and have an even better idea to this "Diva Dollars" concept PLEASE share! I absolutely adore all of you and feel like I've made so many new friends all over the world, which has been the happiest bonus about starting my shop! Seriously, you all are the BEST and I can't wait to start up a program to benefit your loyalty and fabric addictions! ;-)</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">To offer your ideas or suggestions please leave a comment on this post. You can comment using your name, your shop name, or completely anonymous - please do what is most comfortable! If you use your shop name, by all means please include your shop website so my followers can check you out! Free advertising! </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">* * * * * </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">On a separate topic, SEVERAL mentions were made about International shipping! Enough mentions that I want to address it so you all have some answers!!! Shipping fees for First-Class Mail are 100% based on the weight of the package. In the US, anything over 2 yards has to ship Priority Mail for $4.95, because First Class Mail is SO much more expensive! Yes, 2 Yards will ship for $3.50 within the US, but as soon as I add a Fat Quarter, it is $4.95! I don't like this, but this is the way it is.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">As for International shipping charges, the US postal service (USPS) raised Priority Mail envelopes to Canada by $2 to $12.95 and to all other International addresses by $3+ to $16.95 earlier this year. I am outraged by these steep price hikes, but at the same time, my profit margin is so low I don't have the ability to pay these increases myself. The ONE HAPPY BONUS that has come from these price hikes is that I was annoyed enough to figure out how to safely package an additional TWO YARDS of fabric into each Priority Mail envelope! It is amazing what I can do with some ribbon, tissue paper, and some serious arm muscles! Oh yeah, a little "Diva" attitude too! ;-)</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">For all of the added frustration these shipping increases have caused you, I am sincerely sorry! I am always looking for better shipping options so if you ever learn of a better shipping company and/or options, please send me a note - I will properly thank you, trust me!!!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">I am SO honored and humbled by each sale, each time you all choose to shop with me! I am so humbled by your outpouring of love and smiles you send me daily, and I am very eager to start up a customer loyalty program to send some love and smiles right back to each of you! You all are the BEST!!!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">* * * * * </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">My blog has been sadly neglected the past few months, but the good news is I have several of my customers with FABULOUS shops that I will be featuring very soon, and most of them have amazing tutorials they are going to post! When I was a new mom I went through SO many receiving blankets, every single day! My daughter was a bit of a barfer (hi sweetie!) so I preferred to use receiving blankets as burp cloths, and I used my burp cloths as "liners" on my changing table. One of my favorite gifts to make for new babies is this Receiving Blanket & Burp Cloth Set. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-dD_cYoKvQ0k/TwufL6_h21I/AAAAAAAAAK0/mdgj23aAa8c/s1600/016.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-dD_cYoKvQ0k/TwufL6_h21I/AAAAAAAAAK0/mdgj23aAa8c/s320/016.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><u><b>Receiving Blanket & Two Burp Cloths TUTORIAL</b></u><b>:</b> <br />
Step 1: Pre-Wash & Dry TWO Yards of High Quality Cotton Flannel. I prefer to use two different/coordinating prints, as you will see in the following pictures. Iron. Cut each yard of fabric, right-side up, into three pieces. For the Blanket: 25.5" x 31.5" and for the Burp Cloths cut two: 16.5" x 12.5"<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-TLA_glKPfPE/TwufUKVyYMI/AAAAAAAAAK8/Gq1C1ZpWBho/s1600/001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-TLA_glKPfPE/TwufUKVyYMI/AAAAAAAAAK8/Gq1C1ZpWBho/s320/001.JPG" width="320" /></a></div> Tip: When working with patterns always cut RIGHT-SIDE UP so you can follow patterns exactly. For this set I chose to cut between dots so that when sewn, the half dot edge forms a really cool look, like binding without having to add binding, love it! <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/--Scqqw1_JBM/TwufbjTuzHI/AAAAAAAAALE/U2YfKgKdUM0/s1600/002.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/--Scqqw1_JBM/TwufbjTuzHI/AAAAAAAAALE/U2YfKgKdUM0/s320/002.JPG" width="320" /></a></div> Step 2: Place both Receiving Blanket pieces right-sides together. Place fabric for both Burp Cloths right-sides together. PIN!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0jSE4ASKr2I/TwufkLoGYiI/AAAAAAAAALM/83oSWTaPgpI/s1600/003.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0jSE4ASKr2I/TwufkLoGYiI/AAAAAAAAALM/83oSWTaPgpI/s320/003.JPG" width="320" /></a></div> Tip: The better you cut and the better you pin the better your finished product will look. I get very impatient and excited and want to rush and skip steps, but cutting and pinning are two things I have learned (the hard way, ahem) to take great pride in details.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-qsQlPmpw1ZE/TwufrnUXd4I/AAAAAAAAALU/T1QrGm6f_c8/s1600/007.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-qsQlPmpw1ZE/TwufrnUXd4I/AAAAAAAAALU/T1QrGm6f_c8/s320/007.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"> Step 3: Sew 1/4" seams around all four sides leaving a small opening, enough space to turn the piece right-sides out. Back Stitch at both sides of the opening - this will prevent ripped stitches when turning right-sides out.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-BarrBIfZgtw/Twuf022teOI/AAAAAAAAALc/ouQZHYmCkns/s1600/001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-BarrBIfZgtw/Twuf022teOI/AAAAAAAAALc/ouQZHYmCkns/s320/001.JPG" width="320" /></a></div> Step 4: Snip all four corners.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4szrWRUe_Rk/Twuf8r4GeFI/AAAAAAAAALk/spMIi4IR9qw/s1600/002.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4szrWRUe_Rk/Twuf8r4GeFI/AAAAAAAAALk/spMIi4IR9qw/s320/002.JPG" width="320" /></a></div> A close up of clipped corners.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-tT-2HSMlFDI/TwugEA7gqZI/AAAAAAAAALs/jWShrlj-L-k/s1600/003.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-tT-2HSMlFDI/TwugEA7gqZI/AAAAAAAAALs/jWShrlj-L-k/s320/003.JPG" width="320" /></a></div> Step 5: Turn each piece right-sides out. Iron.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-QXmgzukKwkk/TwugLteky-I/AAAAAAAAAL0/Ijr5-ROVGA0/s1600/004.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-QXmgzukKwkk/TwugLteky-I/AAAAAAAAAL0/Ijr5-ROVGA0/s320/004.JPG" width="320" /></a></div> Step 6: Top-Stitch 1/4" around all four sides. I also sew a second stitch, at the opening, as close to the edge as possible. This second stitch is not required, but I like to make baby items as sturdy as possible knowing it will be washed often!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ui8sjuP5aH8/TwugTOM-e6I/AAAAAAAAAL8/hirMF6--hYU/s1600/008.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ui8sjuP5aH8/TwugTOM-e6I/AAAAAAAAAL8/hirMF6--hYU/s320/008.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"> Voila! Even though my daughter is now a toddler, I still use the burp cloths I made her for many purposes, and they still look as wonderful as they did 2 years ago! Quality is everything! </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">I sell several different Cozy Cotton Flannels in my shop and I HIGHLY recommend purchasing some for your stash, if you haven't already! When you are in the mood to sew and then actually find the time to sew, nothing is better than having a well-stocked stash waiting for you! Summer is a challenging time to find a good selection of quality flannel so please have a look through my shop and stock up today! Whether you are making a fancy romantic dinner, eating dinner at home night after night, or entertaining friends and extended family, adding these luxurious place mats to your table adds a touch of love and sophistication to every meal. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">I have two requirements for place mats and napkins: 1) they MUST wash well, and 2) they must be fun to make = quick. There are many options for making your own place mats, many patterns, many tutorials. In researching this project I have made many different versions and what I love most about my pattern is the luxurious, quilt-quality of the final product.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">The following tutorial will yield 2 Place Mats & 4 Napkins. Napkins are always washed more frequently than the place mats, so the additional napkins will provide you additional days of use between laundry days. Another bonus to this tutorial!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">THE MOST IMPORTANT STEP of this entire project is to PRE-WASH & SHRINK YOUR FABRIC. I know I put that in all caps, just making a point! The only thing I dislike more than laundry is ironing, can you relate!?! Although we usually pre-wash high quality quilt fabric in cold water and tumble dry on low, we want to pre-wash for this project on warm/warm and dry on hot. Yes, on HOT! While developing this pattern I made several place mats without pre-shrinking my fabric and as a result I have to iron after every wash. *Sigh*</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">For this project you will need:</div><div style="text-align: justify;">- 2 Yards of High Quality Cotton Quilt Fabric (I prefer two coordinating fabrics)</div><div style="text-align: justify;">- 2 - 20" x 14.5" Pieces of Low-Loft Batting (I like Warm & Natural)</div><div style="text-align: justify;">- Matching Thread, a Sewing Machine, and Scissors</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">A Rotary Mat, Quilt Ruler & Rotary Cutter will improve your cutting accuracy and finished product. This is a great time of year to purchase these supplies at big-box fabric and craft stores such as JoAnns.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><b><u>Place Mat Tutorial</u>:</b></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Step 1: Pre-Wash and Shrink your fabric. Do not wash batting, fabric only</div><div style="text-align: justify;">Step 2: Iron Fabric</div><div style="text-align: justify;">Step 3: Cut each yard of fabric into (2) 20" x 14.5" to make one place mat and (2) 20" x 20" to make two napkins. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Z-fowxMFotI/TwJv_zufvJI/AAAAAAAAAHQ/5kgGJHYHq70/s1600/002.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Z-fowxMFotI/TwJv_zufvJI/AAAAAAAAAHQ/5kgGJHYHq70/s320/002.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Step 4: To make each place mat, sandwich your fabric and batting: fabric right-sides together, then lay the batting on top (or under as in this picture). Pin, Pin, PIN!!! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Xz1zqE2yKZM/TwJyA8Y4vWI/AAAAAAAAAHc/h245TK3XDpE/s1600/020.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Xz1zqE2yKZM/TwJyA8Y4vWI/AAAAAAAAAHc/h245TK3XDpE/s320/020.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: justify;"> Step 5: Sew 1/4" seams around the edge. leaving a 4-5" opening for turning your place mat right-side out. After sewing, trim any uneven edges or excess fabric. You will have the best results with equal 1/4" seams.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-GvZd7_XfHeo/TwJyTkhAJ8I/AAAAAAAAAHo/b0TYEsJWdvg/s1600/022.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-GvZd7_XfHeo/TwJyTkhAJ8I/AAAAAAAAAHo/b0TYEsJWdvg/s320/022.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Step 6: Before turning ride-side out, clip all four corners as shown below. Clip as close to the seam as possible, without clipping your stitches.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-UsYbB-8lDL8/TwJzJLS0RMI/AAAAAAAAAH0/eNLDh7hKXbQ/s1600/025.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-UsYbB-8lDL8/TwJzJLS0RMI/AAAAAAAAAH0/eNLDh7hKXbQ/s320/025.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: justify;"> Step 7: Turn your place mat right-side out. Use your finger or the eraser end of a pencil to push each corner all the way out.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-R3kZyaf43Rk/TwJzRP4pZjI/AAAAAAAAAH8/OciWNm-qayI/s1600/026.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-R3kZyaf43Rk/TwJzRP4pZjI/AAAAAAAAAH8/OciWNm-qayI/s320/026.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: justify;"> Step 8: IRON! I start with a corner and carefully pull the fabric so the seam is exactly centered. After ironing all around the edges, be certain to iron the entire place mat well. This is a crucial step to prepare for top-stitching, and the overall washable feature of this pattern.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-jshvlfvp67U/TwJzZK4dnBI/AAAAAAAAAIE/mdC9MgiGjO4/s1600/027.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-jshvlfvp67U/TwJzZK4dnBI/AAAAAAAAAIE/mdC9MgiGjO4/s320/027.JPG" width="320" /></a></div> Step 9: Top-Stitch a 1/4" around the entire place mat. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-J7TNsly5Hnk/TwJzhnA6NSI/AAAAAAAAAIM/DvQBiOdVtCM/s1600/033.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-J7TNsly5Hnk/TwJzhnA6NSI/AAAAAAAAAIM/DvQBiOdVtCM/s320/033.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: justify;"> Step 10: Machine stitch or hand sew the opening used for turning the place mat ride-side out. I have done both and since I am <strike>lazy</strike> time conscious I prefer to machine stitch, as close to the edge as possible. For the sake of this tutorial and "doing things right, ahem" I hand stitched the opening closed with needle and thread. You will seal the opening when you top-stitch around the edges, however I much prefer a completely finished product and highly recommend this last step.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Rgp5aVhBqOM/TwJzpJzSN_I/AAAAAAAAAIU/DIsdDdhu8Mo/s1600/035.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Rgp5aVhBqOM/TwJzpJzSN_I/AAAAAAAAAIU/DIsdDdhu8Mo/s320/035.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><br />
<u><b>Napkin Tutorial</b></u><b>:</b><br />
Step 1: Fold over each edge 1/4" and iron. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-1CJri09MBCg/TwJ3zBsLMqI/AAAAAAAAAIo/0Sys7pMB8Y8/s1600/003.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-1CJri09MBCg/TwJ3zBsLMqI/AAAAAAAAAIo/0Sys7pMB8Y8/s320/003.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Step 2: Repeat (Step 1) Important Note: I have made many napkins with this boxed corner and many with perfectly mitered corners. Boxed corners are better suited for heavy washing and MUCH faster. My 2 year old has literally pulled every.single.toy out and they are all currently crashed in a massive pile of mess. Good Times! I desperately needed to suck it up and work on the mountain of laundry and putting toys away, but since that didn't sound like any fun, I made corker hair bows, ALL.DAY.LONG!!!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"> </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">The Art of Procrastination - Love It!!!</div><div style="text-align: center;">Voila!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-AjysSUVr1Uw/Tvv1UbQip-I/AAAAAAAAAEo/6y7PrfqIsRU/s1600/042.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="265" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-AjysSUVr1Uw/Tvv1UbQip-I/AAAAAAAAAEo/6y7PrfqIsRU/s400/042.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><div style="text-align: justify;">I love all hair bows and have spent big bucks buying them for the past two years so I decided it was time to learn how to make them! Cute little girls with colorful hair bows = CUTENESS!!! Maybe it is because I have SO many Gymboree corker bows or because it is different than what I had growing up, I love corker hair bows the most!!!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">I ordered all of my ribbon a couple weeks ago through several fabulous Etsy shops, and I watched the most amazing <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WAy7daH4u00&feature=fvsr">free tutorial</a> on corker bows, I was very excited to get started. First of all, don't drink the same naive Kool-Aid I did, it takes SO long to wrap all of the 1/4" dowels, SO long! I baked ribbon all morning and afternoon long! Then there is the business of cutting long corker strips into 3" pieces. Again, very time consuming!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"> </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">After all of my ribbon was wrapped, baked, cut and sorted, I started the assembly process. This was the best part of all! Don't get me wrong, although I'm <strike>complaining</strike> letting you know this project takes a chunk of time, each step is SO MUCH FUN! </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">I intentionally made color palette bows so they will work with many outfits, I highly recommend this. Although I made a lot of corker hair bows today, I already placed an additional ribbon order so I can make coordinating bows for ALL of my daughter's outfits. Why have a few when you can have a LOT, right!?!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

Included in each kit are the following:</div><div style="text-align: justify;">-3 Cookie-Mix Jar Gifts</div><div style="text-align: justify;">-4 Cake-In-A-Jar Gifts</div><div style="text-align: justify;">-Fabric & Materials to make 4 Potholder Gifts (2 per gift, 8 Potholders Total)</div><div style="text-align: justify;">=11 Holiday Gifts Total (for about $3 each!)</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">Why Halloween Gifts!?! There are so many times we want to give an appreciation gift, a teacher gift, or a hostess gift, yet it starts to feel like we keep exchanging the same bottle of wine with our friends or we are roaming the aisles of the grocery store trying to pick up a quick candle that "looks nice enough" to gift. Tell me it isn't just me!!!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">By planning ahead you are able to save money (YAY) and give thoughtful, fun gifts to the special people in your life. Would you run to the store to buy a little thank you gift for the parent who covered your carpool obligations? Would you run to the store to buy your child's teacher a little thank you gift for having extra patience with you child on a rough day? Would you run to the store to buy your child's violin or gymnastics teacher a gift? The answer, probably not! But, wouldn't you like to be able to give them a totally unexpected yet thoughtful gift!?!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">Before my family moved to Utah this past December I was a private violin teacher. I never expected any gifts for holidays, I was getting paid, yet some families always did the "extra" little things that made me feel so special and appreciated. Gift cards are always lovely, but I received so many fun gifts, specifically a lot of cookie mixes in a jar, and I absolutely loved putting them in my pantry! When company came over with really short notice I was able to pull an adorable jar of delicious treats out, add butter and eggs, and voila, domestic goddess! ;-) OK, probably not so domestic or goddess, but you get my point! </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">I have always enjoyed having holiday hot pads - it is such a small thing but it always puts me in such a happy mood when I bake. This kit comes with the fabric and batting to make 8 hot pads, and I usually tie two together with ribbon to take as a little hostess gift when we go to dinner at a friend's house. You never have to worry about food allergies or home decor, hot pads go in a drawer so it doesn't matter a bit if it "coordinates" at all, and they are fun! I also love having them made up and ready to go so that it saves me the quick trip to the store to "buy another candle" or bottle of wine. Don't get me wrong, I love wine and candles, but with a little bit of planning you can gift something thoughtful and unique, love it!!!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">Trying to take pictures without natural light is so frustrating, so here is a sneak peek, and tomorrow I will take "good" pictures! Enjoy!!!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/--H3XzrGKqwI/TnqhnAzPg9I/AAAAAAAAADQ/nmRZABvkZPM/s1600/Holiday+Kits+050.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/--H3XzrGKqwI/TnqhnAzPg9I/AAAAAAAAADQ/nmRZABvkZPM/s320/Holiday+Kits+050.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"> I'm also making Christmas Gifting Kits too!!!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-5R79Yi7vhfA/TnqhwrQEVzI/AAAAAAAAADU/Gy9sLXFQ8To/s1600/Holiday+Kits+046.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-5R79Yi7vhfA/TnqhwrQEVzI/AAAAAAAAADU/Gy9sLXFQ8To/s320/Holiday+Kits+046.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: justify;">More soon!!!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />

Today has been such a great day, but busy, and my eager-to-smile baby girl was serving up a big side of grumpy as soon as I had her dressed and ready to take pictures this afternoon. I will try again tomorrow! Until then, here is one of my latest dresses featuring Michael Miller & Robert Kaufman fabric, love, Love, LOVE it!!!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-G9rvzL_D6Y4/TnfGYjzj-HI/AAAAAAAAADA/LHI_vA9bRyk/s1600/048.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-G9rvzL_D6Y4/TnfGYjzj-HI/AAAAAAAAADA/LHI_vA9bRyk/s320/048.JPG" width="213" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"> Back View</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-F9j_YczTl9I/TnfGa3cb-mI/AAAAAAAAADE/YbBGMrhVb4U/s1600/026.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-F9j_YczTl9I/TnfGa3cb-mI/AAAAAAAAADE/YbBGMrhVb4U/s320/026.JPG" width="213" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"> Ready for Fall/Winter</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-MwECuirenTk/TnfGeRo6YaI/AAAAAAAAADI/-_VumhYZivU/s1600/050.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-MwECuirenTk/TnfGeRo6YaI/AAAAAAAAADI/-_VumhYZivU/s320/050.JPG" width="213" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"> Cuteness!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-mtgV0X66Nz0/TnfGhTdu2cI/AAAAAAAAADM/m0Lg4krgaNQ/s1600/056.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-mtgV0X66Nz0/TnfGhTdu2cI/AAAAAAAAADM/m0Lg4krgaNQ/s320/056.JPG" width="213" /></a></div><div style="text-align: justify;">I have SO many other patterns and projects lined up, now I am just needing more time to sew! I have been having so much fun with these little Kimono-Style dresses that I have made them for almost all of my nieces, one more to go, and I am filling my daughter's closet! </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">My favorite feature of these dresses is the reversible option, it is two dresses for one! It seems like I never have a spare outfit when we are out and I need one so reversing my daughter's dresses has become more of a habit/pattern than I should admit to! ;-) </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">Now that fall is finally arriving I am starting to buy tights, leggings, and sweaters for layering. We always take at least one "warm" vacation every winter and I love that my baby girl can be layered and bundled leaving home, then with a couple of outfit modifications, be ready for the beach and warm weather when we get off the plane, all without having to pack extra clothes! </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">In another week I will have my holiday dresses online! It is so much fun dressing up little girls for holiday parties and visits to meet Santa, but one month a year isn't much opportunity to get full value out of a holiday dress. Don't get me wrong, still totally worth it! Still, I have a few designs that are a holiday dress with an all-season reversible option. Value!!! Please keep checking my shop!!!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />

When I started <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop/StitchStashDiva?ref=si_shop">my Etsy shop</a> I thought I was starting a simple online fabric by-the-yard business, a little hobby. I had very humble goals and expectations. Then...I opened my shop...and I am having more FUN than I ever dreamed!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">Every day I have messages from new fun and fabulous people, both domestic and international. Such a surprise, a very happy surprise!!! Some messages are requests for custom bundles, some are requests for custom bundles and help determining how much fabric they need for various projects, and some messages are just fan mail - people who love my fabric and took their precious time to reach out and write me happy little notes. I LOVE ALL OF IT!!!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">One of my very first customers was a fabulous woman from Oregon, my former home state! She found my shop through a Google search, then messaged me with window and crib dimensions and asked for my help to determine how much fabric she needed. That was SO much fun! We chatted briefly on the phone, I did a little research and math, then voila, a Reserved Listing was made! She just sent me pictures of her son's room and gave me both her permission and blessing to share. Thanks, A!!!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-bytaPK5AzB4/TmBZtjZ7VSI/AAAAAAAAACo/LCP0T8NpM8E/s1600/CA1.3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-bytaPK5AzB4/TmBZtjZ7VSI/AAAAAAAAACo/LCP0T8NpM8E/s1600/CA1.3.jpg" /></a></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />

</div><div style="text-align: justify;">Two or three weeks after I opened my shop I had another amazing woman message me, this time from Australia! She is expecting a baby girl and wanted to decorate her daughter's nursery in Red & Black Ladybugs, loved my Ann Kelle Ladybug fabric, but doesn't sew yet. For those of you who know me, I absolutely LOVE Red & Black Ladybugs!!! Understatement!!! My daughter's 2nd Birthday Party is a Red & Black Ladybug Themed party, woot, woot...pictures soon! She asked if I would sew crib bumpers and a quilt for her, since she doesn't sew...yet! I have a feeling she will be sewing in the very near future! She too, was SO much fun to exchange e-mail with...I am so blessed and fortunate to keep meeting such amazing people through my shop. Happy Bonus!!!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">I stayed up late three nights in a row and finished the nursery bedding set for R. and she just sent me photos of her daughter's nursery! Enjoy!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Z5I7gUszUEU/TmBby880-aI/AAAAAAAAAC0/-dsXKOMDMtM/s1600/CA2.2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Z5I7gUszUEU/TmBby880-aI/AAAAAAAAAC0/-dsXKOMDMtM/s1600/CA2.2.jpg" /></a></div><br />

I can't tell you how many times throughout the day I smile at my computer, having fun - I think YES! I find myself also sending little messages to other Etsy shops with "fan" mail, so much fun!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">My Halloween Kits are finished and will be posted in my shop this weekend! I caught a cold this past weekend and that really slowed me down this week, not good! I am waiting for a couple of special touches to really make my pictures pop, and trust me it will be worth the wait! 2 days, more pictures and goodies to buy in 2 days!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">If you have made anything you feel like sharing please send me a note and your pictures! I would love to post items made with fabric from my shop, but I welcome pictures of any handmade project you want to share! I check my Etsy messages often! </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />

The following TUTORIAL is the way I make these aprons. The Skeleton Apron Panel is a complete project alone, but as part of this kit you will create an improved "finished" product with a professional edge and a happy wash-and-wear bonus! If you have a fabulous tip you would like to share please post a comment below. Thanks, and Happy Sewing!!!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">Step 1: Pre-Wash your fabric on cold and tumble dry on low. Iron fabric.</div><div style="text-align: justify;">Step 2: Lay the Skeleton Apron Panel on a clean work surface, right-side up.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Sgp7a7H7pys/Ti5COskKEmI/AAAAAAAAABk/FxewnJVluXw/s1600/Skeleton+Apron+Tutorial+004.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Sgp7a7H7pys/Ti5COskKEmI/AAAAAAAAABk/FxewnJVluXw/s320/Skeleton+Apron+Tutorial+004.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>Step 3: Cut out the neck ties, pocket, and waist ties.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-hi3jS8oXVds/Ti5Cf_EorJI/AAAAAAAAABo/QqzS3CI26rI/s1600/Skeleton+Apron+Tutorial+006.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-hi3jS8oXVds/Ti5Cf_EorJI/AAAAAAAAABo/QqzS3CI26rI/s320/Skeleton+Apron+Tutorial+006.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>Step 4: Iron neck and waist ties - fold 1/4" and press, fold in half and press.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-h_AZ_5fa6Z8/Ti5C5UA0QNI/AAAAAAAAABw/-jTT-EZmYXM/s1600/Skeleton+Apron+Tutorial+007.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-h_AZ_5fa6Z8/Ti5C5UA0QNI/AAAAAAAAABw/-jTT-EZmYXM/s320/Skeleton+Apron+Tutorial+007.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UHtDosOv-uw/Ti5CzMT6LoI/AAAAAAAAABs/1-L6P2_dSYQ/s1600/Skeleton+Apron+Tutorial+009.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UHtDosOv-uw/Ti5CzMT6LoI/AAAAAAAAABs/1-L6P2_dSYQ/s320/Skeleton+Apron+Tutorial+009.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>Step 5: Pocket - Fold long seam (at Skeleton wrist) 1/4" and press, then fold another 1/4" and press. Fold the three remaining sides over 1/4" and press.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_CNSxDMDn0U/Ti5DnKRKxPI/AAAAAAAAAB0/e5WPuvIAACk/s1600/Skeleton+Apron+Tutorial+015.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_CNSxDMDn0U/Ti5DnKRKxPI/AAAAAAAAAB0/e5WPuvIAACk/s320/Skeleton+Apron+Tutorial+015.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>Step 6: Carefully place the pocket over the matching scene on the panel. Pin.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-a0ESaeXxXWI/Ti5D7ABafxI/AAAAAAAAAB4/RxUHp03nTiw/s1600/Skeleton+Apron+Tutorial+019.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-a0ESaeXxXWI/Ti5D7ABafxI/AAAAAAAAAB4/RxUHp03nTiw/s320/Skeleton+Apron+Tutorial+019.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>Step 7: Sew around three sides of the pocket (leave top open), then sew two seams, between the leg bones, to create a total of three pockets.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ohkKgf4nmhg/Ti5EPYjysJI/AAAAAAAAAB8/gFfxTvqbI0E/s1600/Skeleton+Apron+Tutorial+020.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ohkKgf4nmhg/Ti5EPYjysJI/AAAAAAAAAB8/gFfxTvqbI0E/s320/Skeleton+Apron+Tutorial+020.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>Step 8: Place the neck and waist ties in position, then pin. I pull the length of the ties into the middle of the apron panel and pin again to avoid any shifting and the possibility of sewing a loose end of a tie into a seam by mistake. Been there done that, just sayin'! ;-)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ZvE8UOahTjI/Ti5EyLR4htI/AAAAAAAAACA/hb5n0YqQyjI/s1600/Skeleton+Apron+Tutorial+021.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ZvE8UOahTjI/Ti5EyLR4htI/AAAAAAAAACA/hb5n0YqQyjI/s320/Skeleton+Apron+Tutorial+021.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>Step 9: Lay the backing fabric on a clean work surface, right-side up. Place the Skeleton Apron panel on top of the backing fabric, right-side down. Right-sides should be together. Pin, pin, pin!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ij5EO2UIgmw/Ti5FQTPljhI/AAAAAAAAACE/Ez-TGdp_21w/s1600/Skeleton+Apron+Tutorial+022.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ij5EO2UIgmw/Ti5FQTPljhI/AAAAAAAAACE/Ez-TGdp_21w/s320/Skeleton+Apron+Tutorial+022.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-woUUYLN9aEY/Ti5FUhF2ocI/AAAAAAAAACI/IATyq4OtKY4/s1600/Skeleton+Apron+Tutorial+025.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-woUUYLN9aEY/Ti5FUhF2ocI/AAAAAAAAACI/IATyq4OtKY4/s320/Skeleton+Apron+Tutorial+025.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>Step 10: Use the white edge of the Skeleton Panel as your guide and sew a 1/4" seam around the entire apron, leaving a 4" opening to turn right-side out.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zc13uLlMaaY/Ti5FwjiG8tI/AAAAAAAAACM/heQphVKje9w/s1600/Skeleton+Apron+Tutorial+026.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zc13uLlMaaY/Ti5FwjiG8tI/AAAAAAAAACM/heQphVKje9w/s320/Skeleton+Apron+Tutorial+026.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>Step 11: Trim along the white edge. <br />
TIP: At the 4" opening I cut a wider edge, a 1/2" edge, to make finishing easier. I prefer to leave my opening at the bottom so I cut the entire bottom edge 1/2" from the seam.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-NAtRRJBLr4Y/Ti5GiQKtZXI/AAAAAAAAACQ/7sqrpeqYkDo/s1600/Skeleton+Apron+Tutorial+027.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-NAtRRJBLr4Y/Ti5GiQKtZXI/AAAAAAAAACQ/7sqrpeqYkDo/s320/Skeleton+Apron+Tutorial+027.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>Step 12: Turn Skeleton Apron right-side out. Iron. Pin, pin, pin.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-hdi1OA78n00/Ti5GwXJ1uoI/AAAAAAAAACU/kopSQ_tre0g/s1600/Skeleton+Apron+Tutorial+028.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-hdi1OA78n00/Ti5GwXJ1uoI/AAAAAAAAACU/kopSQ_tre0g/s320/Skeleton+Apron+Tutorial+028.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>Step 13: Top stitch 1/4" from the edge around the entire apron. This top stitching step is very important - it reduces the need to iron after washing!!! I take my aprons out of the dryer when damp, smooth out the fabric, then let them air-dry. Without top stitching there is a LOT of shifting and ironing is absolutely necessary. Just because I know how to iron doesn't mean I want to! ;-)<br />
TIP: I like to make two seams, one a 1/4" from the edge, and another one millimeter inside the edge. This second top stitching is not necessary, it is just a handmade bonus, and I like the look! <br />

I remember the first time I saw one - I thought it looked like fun but I don't scrapbook so what is the point, right? Well, I have changed my tune, I still don't scrapbook but I have MANY reasons to own one! </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">I am struggling to take good pictures of my latest paper crafts so this is only a sneak peek. Nothing ruins a great idea faster than a bad picture, trust me! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-O8Gl2tK4FFk/TiUG-LY3MRI/AAAAAAAAAAo/hxZz0vqqDsQ/s1600/Fabric+074.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-O8Gl2tK4FFk/TiUG-LY3MRI/AAAAAAAAAAo/hxZz0vqqDsQ/s320/Fabric+074.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: justify;">This is six layers of paper, two of which are the most fabulous glittery paper ever - all the shimmer and shine of glitter paper without the mess, gotta love quality!!!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">I have several fabulous paper crafts to sell on my Etsy <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop/StitchStashDiva?ref=si_shop">shop</a> but until I can take a picture that makes them pop like they do in person...I will work on developing my patience!!!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">I heart my Cricut machine and am looking forward to learning new techniques and playing with new mediums...so many ideas, not enough time! Please share your favorite Cricut projects with me!!!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />

In a manic rush we packed up and moved to Salt Lake City, Utah in December 2010. We didn't know what to expect of our new city so we focused on my husband's job, and we started making a list of everything we loved about our new home. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">The top spot on my list was SUNSHINE - Portland has 300+ days of overcast skies and/or rain a year and Salt Lake City has 300+ days of sunshine a year, maybe more! The second spot on my list was "time for hobbies." I have had many interests and hobbies throughout my life, and now that I am a mom, I want to sew and craft all the more! I have an insatiable need to create fun, unique things for my darling little girl!!!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">Building on my "time for hobbies" theme I have opened an online quilt fabric by-the-yard shop that will also feature some of my creations. My shop is named: StitchStashDiva.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-9sQGnt64A48/TiNczYTEUlI/AAAAAAAAAAk/AvsTp_6d8x0/s1600/StitchStashDiva_rev.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="206" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-9sQGnt64A48/TiNczYTEUlI/AAAAAAAAAAk/AvsTp_6d8x0/s320/StitchStashDiva_rev.png" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: justify;">This blog will serve as a creative space to share ideas, tutorials, and I will be having fabulous giveaways and special offers for my readers.
